Too easy to accidentally open ads - intentional?

Ive noticed for a long time that its very easy to accidentally open an ad page while scrolling through a story. Other news apps have inline ads but none of theirs trigger new ad pages accidentally like this one.

This certainly helps Foxs revenues but it costs advertisers wasted money and me wasted time. Ok, its not a whole lot of time but it is irksome.
